Bongwater Beer

MISSOULA, MT-November 15, 2004 — Tim O'Leary was in a stew over what to name his brew.

The Montana microbrewery owner knew that a clever name can go a long way toward making a small beer bigger. So, he came up with the moniker Olde Bongwater Hemp Porter.

It seems to be working. O'Leary says his Bongwater beer is getting a lot of attention. His other beer brands are more conventional, named after local history and landmarks.

But O'Leary doesn't want to get too big. He says customers like to be able sit down with the owner and sip a pint of Bongwater.
