How did you find the lounge?

Poll question: How did you find the lounge?

When I first came to DU, all I did was post on GD: Primary 2004. After the primaries I didn't come back for quite sometime. When I did come back, I posted on GD: 2004. I never went to the Lounge. I just thought, "Those people aren't serious." Then one day, GD: 2004 was moving slowly so I came over here to check it out. I posted a little at first, then more and more. Now I usually post in the Lounge and not any GD (Although GD: Fighting was awesome while it lasted). How did the rest of DU work?

but one day I followed a thread scrolling down the Lobby to the Lounge and here I was. I looked around and thought "this is a lot better than LBN" and since then I don't pay any attention to the news and I'm much happier because of it.

P.S. Is there an election coming up?

5. When I first came here I was a GD hound

This was back before GD: Primary existed. I spent my time mainly in GD and a little in the editorials forum. Then after I decided that most of the people here were already enlightened without my help I started looking around and started posting in the lounge. I have around 5000 posts and I'd say a good 4000 of them are lounge posts.

11. I came here initially over 2 years ago.

For the first 8 or 9 months, I posted minimally and on GD only. Then I think a saw a lounge thread that intrigued me and I kept reading. I thought, "What a funny, eclectic, smart, interesting group of people!" Anyway, slowly I immersed my way in there. There's been changes and some old timers post less, new people came in, personality clashes and misunderstandings at times, but for the most part, it is and will always be a "funny, eclectic, smart, and interesting group of people". I read the GD forums and post if I feel I have something to add, but I don't feel a great need to be involved with any "debates" either, so I remain a content citizen of the Lounge for the most part. :)

Since Joining I think Thursday or Friday I've stayed mainly in the lounge for the most part, and only chime in on the GD boards here and there.

I don't know what I'd do without the lounge. It's a source of entertainment for me so much so that I rarely watch tv or read books now.

I guess you could say I need a life, but this place may have saved my sanity.

nah, I went from reading GD, to posting in GD, then to lounge. I've never been to the meeting room or many of the other forums. I get my news from too many places so I don't check LBN
