No deer this last weekend on my place.

My neighbor shot 3, an 8 pount, a spike, and a Sika exotic. Anybody else get a deer ?

1. My husband has been going out for the past 5 weeks here in SW MI.

He's seen a few, but too far away for bow. There's a 6, 8 and also a monster (possibly 12) point out there that he's seen.

He's starting to get a bit discouraged. Gun season starts here next week. Maybe he'll have better luck then (let's hope so, after a mega investment in equipment last year).

2. No deer (archery season in PA), but

had a Cooper's Hawk fly under my stand and a Red Fox came through in the PM.

147 typical Taken with a pistol
158 non-typical Taken with a bow, 13yr old girl from LA
144 non-typical Taken with a bow, 13 yr olds father
All were rattled in.

I saw 2 late Saturday night, but they were real far away and I couldn't really make out what they were so I passed on a shot.

5. I'll let 3 more be taken off before seasons over.

I've still got to take about a dozen does off.
Hang in there, ruts gonna start in 2 weeks. I like the pre rut for rattling.
