2. Chicago.
I think the total snowfall here last year was less than 12 inches for the entire season.

But I'm prepared, just in case.

3. It's SNOWING right now.... (smile!) And.. do those
actually work?

We have guys who plow the driveway, but our porch... OI, THE PAIN! I got a nasty carple-tunnel (sp!) thing last year from shoveling.

9. Do snowthrowers work?
Sure they do. But just in case it doesn't, I have two strong teenage sons to take up the slack.

7. I lived on the Gulf Coast for 6 years.
Then I regained my sanity and moved back.

You can have it.

16. To be honest, there are more pleasant days per year in Chicago...
Than just about anyplace in the country except for California.

I've lived all over the country and that's been my experience.

If Carrier had never invented the air conditioner, Florida would still be a swamp.

But hey, everyone has to live someplace. I guess. :hi:

10. Nice, I'd post mine, but my neighbor
Brian would probably be pissed to see his 16 year old face posted all over the internet(s).

And, no, I don't keep him in the garage!

X - I hope you don't need that thing much at all this winter cuz whatever you get in Chicago I am bound to get worse in Minnesota.

12. Yes, its true
I have blower envy!

Great to have it knowing that when you need it its there. Plus, I love a high performance tool. I gloated for days over my new cordless hedge trimmers and Mrs Lunabush is still shaking her head over how small our shrubbery is now. Tools!

15. This particular model was surprisingly affordable.
Edited on Mon Nov-08-04 03:09 PM by XNASA
$299 - 10% for putting it on my card. So I got a 21", 4 HP thrower for around $270 + tax.

I couldn't pass it up.

The only other thrower I ever had was given to me by the elderly lady next door when her husband passed in return for doing her drive, if and when it snowed. It was quite small, and underpowered. She's moved since.

A couple of years ago, my son got interested in small engines and one day it 'disappeared' from my yard shed.

Wonder how that happened?

When the neighbors are scared you'll go after their pets with your giant snowblower/implement of death and destruction they tend to let things slide. ;)

24. That's one sweet looking piece of machinery
Shoveling snow is one of my only truly hated tasks. My driveway is a pretty steep hill and I had a lot of days when I couldn't get up it. Last year my neighbor got a snowblower or thrower and he did my drive all last year. That sure was nice of him...lol. I hope he feels neighborly this winter also.
