My mother is through with politics. She will never again be active in politics because her faith has been crushed. She said she will miss you all and the Democratic underground has been here sanity for the last 4 years. Now she's gonna rely on fantasy for her sanity. But I'm not ready to give up my future. I'm 23 years old and no I'm not as educated in the world of politics as my mother but she has kept me up to date as much as she could. Now I beg of you to please help me get involved. And bare with me because I want to as much as I can from the people here.
My future seems very dark right now and if all I depend on is what the news tells me I will become a sheep in the Bush herd and I'd rather know the truth no matter how scary it is. When Kerry conceded I lost my hope for the next four years. The only hope I have left is that Bushes damage is not so devastating that in 4 years that it can be reversed. My mother keeps telling me that America is dead, That the damage is already too bad to fix. Don't sugar coat anything for me I just need another opinion. If it's true and it is over I just want to make sure. Please respond truthfully

As for the damage being too bad to fix, I won't lie: I've had the same feeling. But the fighter in me is not willing to accept it so quickly. And that's thanks to some of the people here. I think there is something to fight for, so if you're up for it, welcome to the fight.

Seen this before. She's had the wind knocked out of her, and maybe a bit of a broken heart, but give her a few weeks. Most of us here couldn't leave if we tried.

I think that we need to fight, but I don't know that I trust the Democrats to get it done. I'm not really sure. It'll take something larger than ourselves for this country to get back on the right path. But we're glad you're here, even if your mother cannot be.

accepted it yet but I don't think it is over. * did not win any sweeping majority, this was still close. Damage is done and will be done but we have to keep up the fight and hope. There were a lot of people who didn't want the Revolutionary War either, this country always had a separation and we need to take a more historical look. It's no going to be easy but if you believe in what is right you don't give up.
