A prophetic quote from Blazing Saddles...
I was watching this last night to cheer myself up and came across this scene when Cleavon Little, the new black sheriff of the Old West town Rock Ridge first goes around to people introducing himself...

Sheriff: "Morning, ma'am. And isn't it a lovely morning?"
Old woman: "Up yours nigger!"

Next we cut to Gene Wilder as the Waco Kid explaining the townspeople's attitude to the somewhat stunned sheriff...

Waco Kid: "What did you expect? Welcome sonny?, Make yourself at home?, Marry my daughter? You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers, these are people of the land, the common clay of the new west, you know . . . morons."

So a big thank you to the red-state morons for 4 more years of hell on earth...I'm going out to buy some birkas now...

2. I love that movie.
I think tonight I will....

Take a long, luxurious bubble bath with candles.

Then snuggle up with all the dogs and kitties and watch funny movies. Blazing Saddles, Caddyshack, Stop Making Sense...

Tomorrow I will be ready to fight again. I am mad as hell still!! But tonight will be for me alone.

8. LOL! I stand corrected...
But Blazing Saddles was made 30 years ago; Mr Morans probably wasn't even born then...if only Mel Brooks had known...

10. Thank you
Your quote from Blazing Saddles is the second thing that made me smile today. The first was my 2 year old daughter saying hi mama on the phone. At least I know that I can still smile, although it's hard. A heck of a lot harder than being president is for *.
