6. When the pugs started in on Clinton they did not have both

houses of Congress. The reason they were able to hound Clinton so effectively is that the pugs are VERY good at maintaining party discipline and staying on message. They are also very good at getting conservative Dems to go to their side.

The Dems are not so disciplined.

8. We first must find Democrats willing to obstruct and

not roll over. Thank GOD Gephardt is gone but I have a feeling that Russ Carnahan is no better. A co-worker who served in the MO legislature for many years said that Russ Carnahan was the laziest legislator he had ever met. He expected to get by on his name (hmmm, sound familiar). He told me not to expect him to make many votes when I questioned whether he'd show up more often than Gephardt.
