I'd like to propose a bill to Congress: The RED-STATE DRAFT BILL.
If a military draft is reinstated, the states from which draftees originate will be selected in descending order of Bush popular vote margin of victory.

Hey, Wyoming? Texas? Oklahoma? You want this motherfucker in the White House?

Are you willing to pay with your own blood?

3. I hear ya and have thought the same thing
Number one on the list: GW

How long would he last dealing with what our soldiers are dealing with every fucking day. He'd be crying in a puddle of his own feces after an hour of patrol duty.

6. Here's a more constructive thought: stop sending money
I don't think I need to tell anybody here that blue states are net contributors to the federal government and red states are net recipients. It makes me sick here in Cola SC that the most rabid Republicans, the ones who were Republicans when the Solid South was still solidly Democratic (well, that's what the party was called; y'all know what kind of people were in it) are in Lexington County, our bedroom community. Columbia has virtually nothing but government: the state, the fort, the university. These people are voting as prosperous Republicans on the backs of taxpayers in the North! Cut off the spigots. Or make us prove that spending here is actually going to help the impoverished, rather than buy SUVs in Lexington County. I beg you.

7. Amen. And Red States should be designated "Official terrorist targets."
They and their counterparts in the Muslim world can wage holy war against each other without involving us.

As for our progressive brethren in those states, all I can do is urge them to embrace civilization and move out.

8. Look at the casualty reports

The south is already pretty heavily represented as they are forced into the current "economic draft." The rethugs are happy with their system - underfund schools, provide no options, keep people stupid, have them drink the kool aid.

9. Because of the way the government is set up
only 16% of the population controls the country. 2 Senators in every state regardless of population. Winner takes all in electoral votes. The red states run the country right now and there is no way in HELL they will send their own kids to Iraq. If there is a draft they will send inner city kids and poor white kids first. They don't vote. And that's exactly the way they did it in Vietnam.

10. Instead of that, draft by voter registration card AND
a progressive scale.

I live in a red statethat had voting difficulties in minority neighborhoods.
