Edited on Tue Nov-02-04 06:38 PM by henslee
and I get a pop-up screen saying "can't find iexplore.exe". I know, its gone but why should my jpegs be unviewable?

Love firefox, though.

1. It must be your default viewer
right-click the file, open with... pick an image program, and choose "use this every time"

3. IE is assigned as your JPEG viewer
To change that, you need to

open Windows Explorer,
select Tools | Folder Options,
click the tab labelled "File Types",
scroll down to the file types beginning with "J"
highlight "JPG"
click the Change button
select an image viewer from the list of programs.

Repeat as necessary for file types "JPE", "JPEG" and "GIF"

6. you need to highlight a file type
once you've scrolled down to "JPEG", you have to click on it. That should ungrey the Change button.

7. As a quick and dirty to view them until you fix your default, do this:
Edited on Tue Nov-02-04 06:59 PM by Misunderestimator
Open paintbrush by going to "Start", "Run", Type "PBRUSH", then in Paintbrush, do a file open and find the file you want to view.

On edit... you will probably have to change the default "View Files of Type" on the File Open dialog to from Bitmap (bmp) to JPEG or All.

8. won't be easy if
it's an image file from a website -- those are all in the cache directory and are hard to get to.

10. Not an expert, but
I was told NOT to remove Explorer when I installed Fire Fox. Because it's so intertwined with the Windows OS, removing it can cause all kinds of problems. If such happens, you may have to re-install Windows.

I'm not a computer geek. But I did phone bank at a Holiday Inn Express today!
