I read the book, some claim there was alot of "poetic license" in the man's story

if you don't experience a myriad of human emotions after watching this film you're not alive, imo.

McQueen and Hoffman are brilliant.

But my favorite McQueen prison movie is "The Great Escape". SEE IT if you haven't! It also has James Garner, one of my acting heroes.

14. That's the movie where McQueen tries to hog all the limelite
I read that he had it written in his contract to spend the majority of his time on screen alone.

OTOH, he actually performed his own stunt driving during the motorcycle scene.
