"Silly Bush". - Comments from my 4 year old.
"That silly bush. He should just get his crayons and his coloring book. He should use markers too. He can draw pictures and do artwork. Then he can go to jail."

This is what my son said last night when he saw bushie on TV.

1. Yay, cute political kid stories!
Cute story No. 1:

The other night at supper I was talking about "my new best friend," a kid working on the Kerry campaign who calls me every day. My five-year-old scowls at me and says, "Mom, I really hope your new best friend is NOT George Bush."

Cute story No. 2:

Many months ago, back when there were still 9 Democratic candidates, Mr. K called his parents one evening. As the phone was ringing, he handed the receiver to aforementioned five-year-old, who said, "Who is it?"

Mr. K: It's a surprise.

Son (eyes wide, voice soft with wonder): Is it...Dennis...J...KUCINICH?

Mr. K: Um, no. It's grandpa. Sorry.

3. OK I'll add one.
Usually I take my 3 yr old son to the polls with me, to reinforce the importance of voting (on the off-chance that such a thing exists when he grows up). This year I went with a group from work. Later when I passed the early voting place I pointed the signs out to my son, intending to tell him mommy went to vote again.

I said "Honey, do you know what those signs mean?" and he said "Fairy-tale land?" It was the first time I ever heard him use the expression, but I thought it was somehow very appropriate. Politics and politicians seems to be all about fairytales.
