Overheard in a hospital elevator today (re: election)

As you all know, Texas' early voting has begun. Today was one of my clinical rotation days in x-ray, and I was riding the elevator up to a patient's room when I heard something interesting..
A Woman stepped onto the elevator. I was on there, as were four other people. The Woman and the other four were all hospital workers. The Woman was wearing an "I Voted" sticker, and she apparently knew the other four workers. One of them noticed her sticker and asked her outright, "Wow.. you voted? Who'd you vote for?"
The Woman answered, "Kerry."

The other people on the elevator let-out small cheers of approval!

I am so worried about healthcare workers going for the malpractice liability limits as a "single issue." Ads are running in my state where some doctors say they are casting their first vote for a Repub over this issue. Maybe they are anomolies?!?! I hope.

5. My hospital may be an anomaly.

About two weeks ago in the department, I overheard another discussion. About eight folks were in there talking about the first debate. Seven were for Kerry strongly, and one was on the fence leaning to Kerry. And I've heard quite a few surgeons making disparaging remarks about Bush. The anti-Bush sentiment is out there..

MANY Kerry/Edwards signs and stickers seen in yards and on cars, in my neighborhood (and many others).
