They crushed my childhood in 1983...my sox were gonna go to the WS, and your O's stood in the way!

And then, there is the fact that for some reason, fucked up things always happened to the Sox in the old Memorial Stadium...dunno about Camden Yards.

But, two separate times, home runs been taken away from the Sox in Memorial. Once, it was Ted Kluszewski, in 1960. the umps called time just as the pitch was being thrown.

the second time, it was A.D. Nineteen Eighty Fucking Three...and a sox player hit a home run that a fan caught.

O's manager Joe Altobelli argued that the fan had REACHED for the ball. Film later showed that the ball had SAILED into the fan's hands...he did not reach for it. the fan even later called Jimmy Piersall's radio show to explain his side.

The ruling, however, stood. No home run. and the difference in the game ended up being disco Dan Ford's solo home run in the seventh inning.

What should have been a 2-1 win turned into a galling 1-0 defeat, proof that umpires really CAN be intimidated, thank you, Joe Altobelli, may you rot in HELL!!!
