Poll question: Most annoying part of watching baseball on Fox

For the record, I'm not blasting "God Bless America" exactly; just being a baseball traditionalist. Also, as many people including Bruce Springsteen have pointed out, "This Land Is Your Land" is a much more appropriate song for what was supposed to be a secular democracy.

Trying manfully to resist the temptation to put McCarver on a second time. ("I SAID Tim McCarver.")

...after 162 regular season games, is even more intensly annoying than the 'thonk-thonk' on Law and Order, which state of affairs I had not thought possible.

10. It's obnoxious enough just in the commericals

but since the commercials are so obnoxious themselves, I usually turn 'em off well before the HIT IT! idiot goes to work. Having the thing stand alone is repulsive beyond words, not to mention likely to cause heart attacks in elderly viewers.

Hadn't noticed this in prior Fox baseball broadcasts, but I guess I'm drastically more likely to watch their pregame show during the playoffs.

16. My conspiracy theory

Fox is overdoing the close shots in order to avoid showing any signage from advertisers who did not pay their tithe to Lord Rupert. During the games at Fenway, the crew nearly had a hernia trying to get the Boston Globe, Northeastern University and 99 ( a local chain, a la Fridays or Bennigans) billboards out of the shot.

Need more proof? What happened to the labels on the bottled water in the Sox dugout? Poland Springs is the Sox "official" spring water, but apparently this isn't enough for Murdoch and Selig.
