Anyone watch Lost last night? I don't see a thread....
I thought last nights episode was great. The way they interconnect the current happenings on the island among the people stranded there, with each of their back stories is just so well written. I had no idea that it was going to end with the revelation that it did about Locke's back story (won't spoil it for anyone who didn't see it).

Thoughts?

2. I thought that ending was cool also, but
overall, the show seems good but it moves a little too slowly. All these dramatic close-ups and sighs from people, and obvious teasers about stuff you don't understand that will be explained soon....but I think you have to watch the thing very, very relaxed, half-asleep or something, because not very much ever happens.
A good filler before the debate, though.

6. Ya think? I have the opposite reaction to it....
I'm totally dissapointed when it's over and always feel like it ends too quickly. I do think it could use more of a slight dosage of levity, but overall I like they were they are pacing it all out.

3. Freaky!
That backstory on Locke blew me away! And what the heck is up with the guy in the suit? I'm telling you this show ought to be labeled as an addictive substance!

4. When are they going to eat the fat guy?

It's no X-Files or Twin Peaks, but it will have to do

5. My daughter got me hooked on Lost
and now we watch it every week.

I love the whack-in-the-head moments like, "that is HIS wheelchair." Wow!

And the longer it goes one, the better it gets as you learn more about the people.

9. WARNING! SPOILER!
Flashback to Locke at the office where the Walkabout is to take place. They won't let him go. He says he's able to do it, but when he turns it develops he's in a wheelchair. So the wheelchair we've seen a couple of times was his, and somehow the crash returned his ability to walk. (Did you see the shot of him wiggling his toe and looking puzzled?) Don't know how this squares with medical science, but it was a great WOW moment for me. Also, I don't know if you saw it but apparently Locke was face-to-face with the "whatever-it-is" and everybody thinks he's dead, but he turns up with a boar he killed, so it appears he will be one of the ones who keeps them alive.

10. Spoiler included!!!! Here's what happened....
They show a flashback clip of that Locke guy in Australia. He is sitting at a desk arguing with an outback travel guide about why they won't let him go on the trip to the outback. The tour guide finally says that because of Locke's condition they just cannot let him, since he misrepresented himself. The tour guide walks out of the room and you see Locke pull away from the desk to reveal that he is in a wheelchair.

Then they cut to the original crash scene and show him lying on the ground and realizing when he wakes up that he can walk.

It explains why when he got knocked over by the boar that he lay there staring at his feet with a worried look.

11. I love this show!
I think the pacing is great. They are stuck on an island. There aren't going to be car chases.

Anyway, I thought the whole Locke story was great -- especially the way it was revealed. Very cool. And I thought the memorial service for the dead people was oddly touching. Sniff, sniff. I'm just a sucker, I guess. :)
