I applied for "Queer Eye..."
A volunteer (a VERY energetic volunteer) called them and spoke to a producer of the show.

They said that they're only taking NYCers, but the thought of a congressional candidate intrigued her very much, so they said to apply anyway. She siad that the show has grown so fast that it would be very possible that they'd branch out beyond NYC very soon.

So I applied. Why the heck not???

1. For a candidate in a non-DCCC target district...
any publicity is good publicity.

4. I think that's great!
I like the show, and I think it would be great for you and your campaign. Plus it would be fun, and you'd get some cool clothes in the process!

5. careful
As much as I like the show nobody really comes of of it unscathed (cept the Fab 5 that is).

6. Meet them in a DU shirt!
Crazy about Teddy, the chef; alas, I'm a straight woman (happily married, no less!).

7. it's really a VERY good angle for them

politics, a road trip, 'grooming a candidate'

could be a real winner for them.

but I would think long and hard-- the show (for now) is VERY hot and you'd certainly get exposure. you'd just have to be sure that your message and not just your 'look' gets into the mix...

good luck!

8. "Queer Eye for the Buckeye"? I love it!
This is the kind of out-of-the-box thinking that, though forbidden by the DLC, could get insurgent Dem candidates like yourself off the proverbial back burner.

Needless to say, you will tie this in with every single GLBT group in OH-16 'cept the Log Cabin Repukes, right?
