Bride Attacked By Taser At Wedding Reception
EVERGREEN PARK, Ill. (CBS 2) A south suburban Chicago wedding reception comes to a shocking end when cops responding to a call about loud noise allegedly attack the bride and her father with a taser gun.

The victims say it happened outside their home in Evergreen Park. Now they are suing the village and the two officers that allegedly roughed them up.

Romona Madison and her father Clarence Phelps stood by their attorney as he described what took place here at her parents’ home on the night of September 18.

Madison was having her wedding reception at the Evergreen Park house, when a female police officer arrived to say the music was too loud. The family attorney says the music was turned down. But the officer didn't drive away after that happened.

5. Yes, the bride was noticeably preggers and even told the cops
but they went right on and zapped her anyway.

A lawsuit was filed yesterday. It will be fun to read the pleadings.

Heck this is only 20 miles from me. Evergreen Park is a changing neighborhood.

6. As one who suffered for years from obnoxious, evil noisy assholes

I applaud the cops for actually doing something about the noise. people have a right to live quietly. Can't tell you how many times I wish I had a taser, or tear gas, or stink bombs, or anything that would have forced the noisy cockknockers to quiet down.

That said, tasering a pregnant woman is insane.

Quite interesting the two very different stories that are being told. I'm inclined to favor the side of the cops on this one (except for their use of the tasers). Wedding party = lots of drunk people, in celebration mode, and no one wants their celebration mode to end. The response that the cops say they had from the merry makers is pretty typical of the response the cops (and I) got in my neighborhood when they told people to quiet down.
