Need help with new apartment in LA!

I lived in LA for 20 years but left 0ver 20 years ago. My dear friends from NY moved there after 9-11 and have been living in the Valley for 2 years. I really don't know the areas any more.

They want a 1 or 2 bedroom. Will spend up to $1200 monthly.They have a small dog. OHHH, BTW they are gay and would prefer being in a gay area.

HELP!
