How does one unarchive a thread?
The whole idea of the thread (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=890951&mesg_id=890951) was that people could add to it as they had new good news, but now it's untouchable. And yet I just saw one thread that got resurrected after months. How's it done?

You can't.
When a thread falls to the archives, it's gone.

1. sorry, you can't
once a thread falls into the archive, it stays there.

Some forums move a lot more slowly than others, though. A thread in GD or GD04 can fall into the archive in a matter of hours. A thread in a less-visited forum can go for months before hitting the archive.

2. You can't.
Once a thread has gone to the archive, it's archived for good. You may want to post to a slower forum. General Discussion and GD Campaign (as well as the lounge) move quite quickly and threads get archived within a couple days. Threads can usually hang out in some of the slower forums for months before they drop to the archive.

It's not really appropriate for the slower forums.

Gah. I like the people at this site but I loathe the software.

Edit: My apologies, I should've thanked you all for responding. I was just so unhappy with the news that I forgot. But it's better to know than to wonder.

5. Just step into the Wayback Machine
And mess with the timeline as you desire...

Personally, I'd advise Howard Dean to take Maureen Dowd's phone call.
