It should be very safe. Lots of very experienced very sober gun people (ex CIA type guy and his formerly East German wife) and lots of hunters.

I haven't fired a weapon since I was in the Army so this should be quite the experience.

Shot skeet (12ga and 20ga) about 25 years ago for few hours with a hunter friend of the family, and spent the next three days going "WHAT? HAH? I CAN'T HEAR YOU!"

I made the mistke of firing a M16 without ear plugs once (in MOPP gear) and couldn't hear for two days.

I favor a little Crown Royal at home, after all the guns are broken down and safely locked away in the trunk of course.

In spite of the stereotypes most regular shooters are pretty staid and safety minded people ... and many of us still have most of our own teeth too!

I just joined a local sportsman's club and have been trying to get out shooting every week with my crusty old Browning 12 ga. pump. They have a great little 50 yard range for .22's too.

There are a lot of "closeted" DU shooters here, and not just in the Gungeon either.

I will clean it at my in-laws (always a good idea) on Saturday. Apparently my father-in-law bought it at a Woolworth's YEARS ago.
