Is your cat a sidewinder, a lowrider, a headbutter or given to any other
Edited on Fri Sep-24-04 11:32 AM by Zuni
strange tendencies?
My cat is a headbutter and she is a sidewinder. She walks sideways, veering off to the sides as she walks. She bashes her lil head into mine while I sleep, and is known to violently headbutt furniture.
My friend's cat likes to hunch over real low when she walks, and we call her a lowrider.

My cat is also a kneader. My mom's cat is a swisher (she sashays when she walks), a drawer climber, a hind leg stander and a drooler.

on edit---additions

2. one cat is a flopper
whenever he walks in front of us, he just falls over and waits to be petterd. one cat is a jumper! He runs and then leaps into the air, or at the wall, it's quite comical. Our third cat is a stalker, he slinks his way around the house and only has anything to do with the humans that he 'lets' live with him, at bedtime when he likes to get on their bed and get between them :)

:silly:

9. I have a flopper
We joke that he can only get so far and then he collapses. He's also a slinker - he loves to walk between your legs. He'll sort of wrap his tail around one leg as he moves through.

And of course, he has that wonderful thing where he walks in front of you while you're trying to carry 6 bags of groceries into the house and then he stops abruptly. I'm not sure what to call that. Annoying?

12. my cat also is a 'roadblocker'
that is what I would call it.
The walk bewteen the legs and tail wrapping is a sign of love and affection.

14. Oh absolutely
They all are really. I adore him and all his strange and wacky ways. Life would be very empty without him.

3. None of the above
Pad Thai is a shoulder vaulter. All I have to do is walk around him and he gets that intent look on his face for a few seconds and bingo! He has jumped up on my shoulder. Sometimes he does this from behind and surprises me. Needless to say, I'm always sorry if I haven't trimmed his nails recently.

But once up there he rubs my ear as if he's trying to take it off!

Lily is more of a face-sitter.

5. Dino is an ear-sucking headbutter...
Ears so wet with kitty slobber you have to go wash 'em.

He also drools.

Both cats are runners and jumpers. I caught Fred on top of the fridge once. Ginger is a flopper and loves to take the lining out of sneakers..

11. Quinn is an ignorer and a yowler, depending on mood
Althea is a cuddler and a kneaderr. When I'm working on the computer she pretty much leaves me alone, but if I'm sitting on the couch or lying in bed, she wants to be there, as close as possible, kneading away and purring her little butt off.

Quinn ignores me most of the time, except for when I first get home from work, which is when he follows me around like a puppy. Then, later if he wants to play, he sits and the opposite end of the long hallway and yowls for attention.

17. I have a couple of crazy head-butters
Hepburn and Papa (see their gallery pics!) are both known for that - and they'll wake me up in the night, just like yours.

Also, Papa is notorious for trying to walk *between* my legs, which can be a problem on the stairs. x(

19. We have a hopper/meatloaf and a headbutt/drooler
Mr. hopper/meatloaf is also a slut. He will sleep for hours on his back, legs wide open. There's trust for ya.

The headbutt/drooler is an old lady. She loves ketchup but the vinegar gives her violent sneezing/wheezing fits.
