Fleas...Is Orthoboric Acid the best way to kill em?

I have fleas in my apartment. And I have a cat. I'm treating the cat with advatage drops behind the neck.
But for my apartment...whats the best way to get rid of them?

1. I reccomend moth flakes.

Put these mothball flakes everywhere on the furniture the carpet.than vacate the house overnight
Put a bunch in the vaccum cleaneer bag and vacuum them up when you get home.

Also a bug killer room fogger works too.

Both things require you and all your pets be out of the house overnight. We got fleas when one of our freinds dogs had them.then the cats got them and it drove us crazy.
Don't use a flea collar they can give yout cat bad excema.
Frontline is great stuff.

just get some spray at petsmart, keep some windows open for a couple of weeks... or get the plague , i dont care.

8. moth flakes are deadly to cats!

please stop. borax sprinkled over the carpet & vac'd 30 minutes later will do the trick. repeat 1ce a month if your cat(s) go outside.

2. diligent vacuuming

flea eggs do not adhere to the animal's fur or skin but drop wherever.
Advantage plus vacuuming should do the trick in pretty short order. remember to do couches and chairs also.
If you want, you can sprinkle a little flea powder in the carpet (in fact, having a little in the vacuum ensures that they will be killed after being vacuumed) before vacuuming, but not absolutely necessary.

3. I use diatomacous earth for both tha animals and the carpet

Advantage has DEET, so I would only use it in a major infestation. Diatomacous Earth is like razors spread all over for fleas, ants and other buggies, but is safe to eat.

5. My mother swears by Borax the laundry soap

just sprinkle and vacuum thoroughly.

6. Boric Acid Salts

Sprinkle it under your sofa/chair cushions and in crevices. Also sprinkle around the baseboards. Try to get it in between the baseboard and carpet (if you have wall to wall). Wait a few days and vacuum it all up. Be sure to seal the vacuum bag and throw it away.

Keep vacuuming (daily if you can). Advantage on your cat will get onto the furniture/carpets and help with the flea control, too.

7. Zodiac spray...you can get it at Pet Smart

it kills live fleas and then the eggs and won't hurt the animals
