I completely bombed my stats test.
I had no time to study and have been dealing with other homework and my internship. I am so scared that I won't make it through graduate school now. God, I hope I find some way to. I at least hope that I find what I am looking for as a direction in life soon if this isn't it. I am so scared.

1. Bombing a test in grad school...

...usually means you end up with a low B. Are you sure you did all that bad? Wait and see.

2. I hardly had any time to study.
Some of the questions I couldn't answer. I didn't have time to study and I just went over the chapters and the class notes as much as I could and sadly was left with an incomplete picture. I am so scared of the future. It almost always seems to look bleak.

3. I'm sorry you're feeling scared.
All I can tell you is that I bombed plenty of tests when I was in college and I had no idea what I was going to do with my life, either. But, it really is a passing feeling. Things really do snap into place. You'll find your place out there!

4. I don't know what to say that
would make you feel any better right now, but listen, there were plenty of times that I think a lot of us here thought we blew a test and ended up o.k. How much does this count toward a final grade? I would think that there is time to pull yourself up even if you really did mess up badly. Hang in there.

5. I know that I bombed.
The reason why is because I did not know how to approach any of the questions. Because I didn't have time to study. The test is 14.3% of my grade. The thing is, I flubbed a little on my homework too. More than I would like. I need to start my project. I really find this interesting. I hope that I get through.

7. I asked you in another post if it
was possible to get a tutor. Going to the instructor and talking this over may help a lot and he or she might have some suggestions. Most instructors try to be helpful to students that are sincere. Finding a way to relax about school might help too. Take care.

6. Relax
Things can and will get better. I dropped out of high school, got married young, working crap jobs (mainly due to pay, I liked a lot of the work) and things looked bad.

Now I have an awesome job, engineers who work for me, entrusted with a high volume of cash flow through my systems daily, travel, and just bought my first house (I am 39 soon).

The learning never stops. I have made my own college courses for study. I set up topics (10 this semester, as I call them- with detailed out topics and notes) and work hard to learn new things in-depth (simply because I like to learn). This Time around I am getting hard core into gtk-2.0, gcc, c, java, and a host of other things (much of this is stuff I have used and know some already, just want to get more detail and better core grasp, as well as to keep fresh on things). I also have other interests like history, religion, math (mainly some branches of number theory), crafts (fimo and wood working mostly and sometimes needle point which is very relaxing).

Hard to find time with work, wife, daughter, things we are doing to the house, posting here :) and other things. The best thing I have found to help is thinking about the subject at hand and analyzing it while I am doing other things (like driving, in line, working on the yard, making crafts, and so forth).

A glass of rum helps at night as well ;) I don't pretend to be an expert at any one thing or mr smart, I just love learning new things - there is a vast world of knowledge out there. Make it fun, stress less, and don't worry so much as it will make it harder to study!
