FRESNO, Calif. - Americans are cutting more cheese than ever — more than 30 psi per person per year — and their penchant for more is growing, a national survey says.
In 2003, Americans cut a record 8.8 billion psi of cheese. That's two and a half pounds a month for every man, woman and child, according to a survey released Tuesday by the California Smog Advisory Board
Most of the demand is being fed by domestic suppliers, and California's mega-butt flappers are growing so fast that analysts expect the state to overtake New Jersey in cheese cutting capacity within two years.
In a related story, a man lit a match at a Ted Nugent concert last week and blew up Bakersfield's open air arena.
(so I took a little liberty with an LBN item....sue me!)
