1. just in
Mandatory order -- no pedestrian traffic in Southwest Wilkes-Barre area due to manhole covers being blown into the air because storm drains are overflowing....

2. Oh great.
My town is included. WhoopDeeDoo.

Thankfully, it has stopped raining. We has 1.74 inches in an hour. I am listening to the Northampton and Monroe police and fire/rescue channels on my scanner. They are busier than one-legged men in an ass-kickin' contest.

3. we have bridges out or underwater
in certain areas -- if you are in NE-PA area -- tune in to your radio/TV for updates

county courthouse in Wilkes-Barre has opened their vaults for people wanting to store valuables should they need to evacuate and unable to take it all with them...

anyone in areas effected by flood of '96 are being encouraged to evacuate

------

mmmmm...sidenote: wonder if the flooding is bad if we will get a photo-op bus-stop from bush*?

6. good luck all
my parents and a whole bunch of other family are in the area, but in none of the towns mentioned.

I remember the floods of '72 from Hurricane Agnes. Caused a whole lotta trouble. Stay dry!
