Miss Alabama won on a sympathy vote.
I can't think of any other reason the new Miss America is from Alabama, a sympathy vote since that state got hit so bad from Ivan.

And Miss Wisconsin wasn't even in the semi-finals? Fix! Fix!

2. Question...
Is your comment a dig at Alabama in general, or at the young woman who was crowned Miss America?

3. The judges.
There were better lookers, but the judges gave it to Alabama as a sympathy vote.
