I hardly had any time to study and I am quite worried.

Stats can be really interesting, also really intimidating and counter-intuitive. Good luck to you with it!

9. I was severely afraid of stats class
but actually did ok, amazingly enough. If I can, anyone can! studying helps, but if you know the concepts pretty well you should be fine, if you don't you won't learn them the night before, so just relax, that's the best thing you can do, seriously.

10. I will have to take an advanced statistics class one day soon.
Edited on Wed Sep-22-04 04:26 AM by Swamp_Rat
I don't look forward to it, but it's a core class. I am doing mostly qualitative methodology right now, which I really like.

edit: Good luck! Relax... get sleep.

12. I admire you already.
The fact that you've learned enough about Statistics to take a test is quite an accomplishment.

13. Positive Thoughts
Except for my finals, i don't feel a need to give crushing exams. I think the point is to get the students to know what they know, and what they don't know.

By finals time, though, they should either have filled the gaps or they will sink. That's not my problem. It's their problem.

Too many test takers make it to grad school. If they have to cram for the final, they didn't absorb along the way. If the cramming doesn't work, tough.

But, my "along the way" exams are never punishing. There's no point to that.

Hopefully your prof feels the same way.
The Professor

14. Shall I make everyone hate me?
I didn't study for my 1st stats class, went to class about 1/2 the time (I had to work right after that class,) never did the homework and always blew the curve for everyone!

Actually, I didn't blow the curve, I just got scores of over 100...

15. Good luck with that..
I actually had to take a few years off from school for failing a statistics class. (funding problems) I did finish, but what a pain.

Good Luck!
