Who likes ska?
I'm just wondering which DUers are fans of ska music. I'm pretty heavily into the modern underground ska scene, but I listen to the big ones as well. Any takers?

2. I like it okay...
I'm not a huge fan of it, but I've listened to it in the past. My friends who skateboard seem to be really into it.

3. I like it well enough
But I'm glad the white-boy-band-geeks-playing-it fad is over.

4. A little
I had some friends who made their own Ska/Punk band, but that was just highschool practice-in-an-attic stuff but it was entertaining. They played at a highschool "battle of the bands" thing at a club and some one gave me a Wookie Foot CD as I was leaving. Thats pretty fun music.

5. I liked it until it got beaten into the ground....
Like "alternative" and punk before it, I loved the genre until it got taken over by former hair band dudes looking to make it big on the next big thing. Not surprisingly many of the same dudes tried to make it in alternative rock bands and then punk bands and then ska bands. Now they are back around doing the Nu Metal thing.

6. Old Ska, Like the Specials
the Selecter, and pop/ska like the English Beat.

There was a pretty good local ska band here called Groovasaurus, and of course, the Bosstones are from Boston but I don't like them (mainly because I knew the lead singer when he was young).

7. I do.
There's a great local Ska/Reggae/Punk band here in S. FL. that I just discovered. And I love the older Marley ska almost as much as I love his later music.

Music :loveya:

8. Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra!
I just discovered them (20 year late!) on a Trio TV special a couple weeks ago.
