A French Quarter toast to DU
Thought I would take a moment away from telling the truth about bush. I was in the quarter yesterday solving all the worlds problems and thought how proud I was to post on DU on occasion. Its a happy place to turn every now and then to share thoughts with like minded souls. I stayed a little too long yesterday and the typical mid summer torrential rains came. Street flooding was the order of the afternoon. What a bizarrely wonderful town. I made it to my second favorite watering hole in Slidell on the Northshore and solved some more world problems.

Cheers to DU!!!!

1. I love Slidell
and that is usually where I stay when I am cruising through Louisiana. Wish I could remember the name of the place where I go for fried chicken and crawdads, but I have only had one cup of coffee...and it's not even near the crack of noon-

2. Slidell and the French Quarter - now there is a contrast
hot loud spice versus quite Wonder white bread!

At least that was my impression from a few vacations down there!

:-)

3. Pontchartrain Drive off the Highway 11 Bridge
is home to quite a few nice little honkeytonks in Slidell. And all the good cooking of New Orleans has made its way to the North Shore.

4. Cafe Du Monde
Beignets and chicory coffee, a must during any trip to the French Quarter.
