My entire family has succumbed to election fever.
My husband left a pile of articles he printed from the internet on post RNC convention polls on the kitchen counter for me to read. They appear to be highlighted and annotated.

My daughter has made up a new John Kerry/John Edwards song. She is three. I tried to teach her to say 'W is for Wrong' this morning so she could bust it out for the repub inlaws next visit.

I have so many volunteer events on my calendar for the next two months, I doubt I will even see my family or sleep much.

This is getting pitiful. We used to have a life. We had fun. Now all we do, including the three year old, it appears, is obsess about politics. Democracy is not easy, that is for sure.

2. I know how you feel.
You know things are bad when chimpy is even affecting your... well... your...you know......."marital relations."

We're usually so exhausted from volunteering and whatnot that we fall into bed at night and go immediately to sleep.

Time enough for jigginess when we've taken our country back!

7. I blame one man for the lack of jigginess in my marriage.
And that man is.... :sob: George W. Bush!

Hey, it makes about as much sense as blaming gay people for the erosion of family values. I will go with it.

My husband threatened to leave me if I bid on the lifesize cardboard Kerry cutout that my kid saw on ebay. I just get no support at all.

11. your own personal kerry
I just went looking, and saw there are a few of them: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=4174&item=2268401753&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

If it was the Butler photo here: http://www.time.com/time/election2004/photoessay/gatefold/
I probably would have gotten it despite the divorce threat. The sanctity of marriage is nice and all, but sometimes other things take priority. :)

4. Don't worry wildeyed...
almost all of us are in high gear for this year. After Novemeber, life will gradually slow back down to a normal pace, friends and family will be reaquainted, the dog will be fed, the kitty litter pan changed, food will actually be cooked on the stove, and every conversation will cease beginning with Bush or Kerry.

Democracy should never be easy. If it was we'd get to comfortable with it, we'd fail to be diligent in making sure it still was being held in highest of reguard.

10. Point taken, DemWitch.
My stove has been very lonely lately.

But the Chinese delivery guy has been busting his butt, and has worn ruts in the street getting to our house. He'll finally get his well-earned vacation after Nov 2 too.

12. Ah another fellow political junkie
politics has a STEEP learning curve. I found that out about 18 months ago. But once you semi-get on top of the curve, it gets VERY damn interesting.

THAT'S when you become a junkie. The first step is in admitting you have a problem....

LOL!

We, too, are obsessed.
