Do yal ever have days where you just feel like saying....
Edited on Fri Sep-05-03 02:15 AM by God_bush_n_cheney
Fuck it and throwing in the towel? I am near the edge of what I can handle. I have not had a vacation since march 1998. I am hating life right now and if I were anymore depressed I would not be able to bear it. I have been on the edge of tears for the last 5 days and sick for 2 of them. I am beaten! They win...I am losing my will to fight...the odds are overwhelming...I need a job have no skills (I do but they are more valuable in India from what I hear) and I am getting old. I feel ugly and my foot hurts...it is aching so bad tonight I am tempted to cut the damned thing off. Ok now I am crying. I wish this nightmare would end but there is no end in sight...Game set match the neocons win...They are too powerful, have to many resources and I am only one man. I feel the weight of the world on my shoulders and it'a not my fault but I feel like it is. I wish I had a bottle of vodka right now...I'd drink the whole damned thing. God damnit the bad guys really do win...fuck it I just can't do it anymore. I am so depressed

2. hang in there GBC
I know it probably won't make you feel any better, but I've been there. I know it sounds corny, but try to think of a couple of things you are thankful for--friends, family members, pets?

8. whassa matta with your foot?
And all of us feel overwhelmed from time to time. All of us need a break from politics once in a while, too. When I think of the hours I've spent fighting the wingnuts over the past seven years or so....I'm afraid to think what I could have done with all that time.

That's why I hope so desperately that the Bushes will be beaten badly by a strong Democrat, so the people can have some peace for a while.

7. I know words seem like nothing, but hang in there...
Most, if not all people feel crappy some/most of the time. You're not alone. The last few years have been tough. Think of the good things you have, not what is wrong in your life. We need you in our fight, and we CAN win. Take care.

11. during a very difficult period in my life...
...I could only tell myself this: "There are no bad experiences, only useful ones." Meaning that even in the worst of times, I hoped to gain some insight into the human condition and be wiser.

Have you thought of journaling your feelings?

14. I feel overwhelmed...so overwhelmed
I have to stop this...I am falling apart. I guess I need to cry. It pains me so much, all the death...we are't seeing it...but I feel it! I hate it so much...then I see pictures of the young guys over there, realize the conditions they are in and I get even more depressed. Then I worry about the children in Iraq...I know this is all irrational...but rationality went out the window 2 wars and 2 years ago.

9. Yes, but I also have good days, and they generally tend to balance out.
Remember that book I mentioned I was working on that was driving me nuts? I`m finally done!

I'm don't really know what to say that'd cheer you up tonight, but a good laugh couldn't hurt, could it?

I think everyone has those days sometimes. But remember, it's not your fault. You can't possibly bear the weight of the world on your shoulders - no one person can! Don't give into the culture of fear that's being perpetrated in America.

As for your foot, I'm really sorry to hear the pain is so bad. Maybe you should go to the ER, if it's going to keep you up anyway.

You can't throw in the towel because I'm putting together a political humor show for Channel 77, and we'll need supporters. ;-) (on edit: I just saw your sig line - we're planning to make the shows available online too.)

I hope you feel better soon. PM me if you want to chat sometime.

:hugs: :hugs: :hugs:

17. The neocons *don't* win
because we've got people like God_bush_n_cheney on *our* side. And even though you may be feeling like utter crap right now, know that what you do and have done has made a difference. You've influenced formerly nonpolitical people like me to start educating myself.

I'm so sorry you feel so horrible. I've been there. But, this too shall pass.

May I ask, is your depression an ongoing thing? Is it the type that may be helped by medication? 'Cause I've been there too and it saved my life.

Know what you mean about the "skills useful in India." Personally, I'm getting the hell out of IT and going into health care.

Cry if you must--because that can actually help you feel better. Then try to sleep, and get up swinging. Or just keep checking in so we can continue to tell you how wonderful we think you are!

The fight certainly does seem impossibly hard sometimes and the mountains too steep to climb. That's why I started posting on DU. I felt so alone in my frustration with the neocons and, to my surprise, there were more and more people who felt exactly as I did.

There is strength in numbers, Buddy. Please keep the faith. We are accomplishing some things. I personally have converted around 15 voters, and I am, basically, a shut-in. We're nibbling at itty bitty melting chocolate feet. Can't you taste it? Hugs and kisses to you; you are never alone when you've got DU.

I do have a small suggestion. Buy some magnesium without added calcium, and some boron capsules and cod liver oil gel caps. Take the magnesium (around 1400mg total) two or three times a day with a boron cap. In the morning or night add the cod liver oil gelcap. Before going to bed at night take a couple of magnesium pills alone (no Boron or CLOil). You should sleep like a baby and the magnesium helps the depression a lot. Please try this simple and relatively inexpensive treatment. We are your friends. Please tell us if you cannot afford this, and I personally will help with the expense of these very simple helpmates.

Love you.

Juajen

Edited: I forgot to tell you, this could actually help some with the pain in your foot. I certainly helped with some of my pain as well as relieved my depression. The magnesium helps your body to absorb calcium; this is why it is so helpful. Give it at least a coupla weeks.

21. Have you consulted a doctor for your depression?
Depression is the first thing that has to go.
The world has ALWAYS been depressing... now we can see things faster and more clearly that before (maybe that is why they say "ignorance is bliss."
I went through a bout of depression a few years back and NOTHING seemed worth living. I had to take anti-depression pills for a while but after I got over this I was able to help myself and others around me.
Your contributions to DU help other people, and that is a positive thing. I am sure in your personal life there are other people and communities that need your presence.

23. YOU ONLY GET ONE MINUTE BETWEEN ROUNDS
and you can't stop that clock. The bell will ring, and then you have to get up again like it or not. You ain't dead yet, or you wouldn't be hurting. Sure, the other guy's bigger and better than you, and knows it. But, that in itself can be his undoing. All that's needed is one quick smart punch and then a merciless flurry to turn the bout around. It takes a killer's mentality to win, and that's what that one minute is for.

"what goes around comes around". The neocons are going to get their payback big time and we want you to be around and healthy to enjoy it.
