2. right now it's 5 to 1 matte

and yet matte finish is really hard to come by unless you go to a real lab. :shrug:

edit: it didn't used to be this way.

4. Epson Stylus Photo 2200 (or R800)
Best matte (and grayscale/b&w) prints I've ever made. They compare nicely to a photo lab too.

Ritz Camera and that crappy Proex do give the option for matte, but my printer does them just as well (my specialized film scanner also does an awesome job at scanning them in; flatbed scanners are a joke when it comes to negatives...)
