how can I convert a .bmp to a .jpg?
I post pics here sometimes. mostly .jpg files from my digital camera. I post them to photobucket and copy and paste the pic and it shows up in my post. I tried to post a .bmp from photobucket and In the post only the link to photobucket appears in the post. The pic appears if you click the link.??????????

1. You can do it through MS Paint
Or you can try this freeware program:

if you have the software to do it. Photoshop, CPIC, ACDSee all do it. MS Paint I think does it.

But nothing wrong with just posting it as a .bmp and letting people click the link.

8. I'm assuming not
though i can't say it with any certainty. But since it only showed a link, and not the image, I'd imagine that DU isnt' set to automagically show bmps.

But don't quote me on that.

4. Get yourself a freeware image editor/converter
You can find many at http://www.download.com.

Dunno what OS you are using, but if you're a Windows user there is a nice little free image editor called PhotoFiltre. I have used Graphic Converter on the Mac for years and it's great.

6. easier than converting a freeper to pro-kerry!
Edited on Thu Aug-26-04 11:06 PM by Goldom
(sorry. nm. im tired.)

Do you have PSP (Paint Shop Pro)? If not, get a free demo online someplace, it's well worth it. I personally like 7 better than 8, but either will do. Just open the picture in it, then go to Save As, and choose jpg from the type list. I don't think that Paint as it came with Windows can do this itself, but I'm not positive.

(well, I guess I took too long to write that. To respond to some of the above: ok, i guess you can do it in MS Paint, I didn't think so. And you really should convert to jpg for internet use even if bmp works, because it is a MUCH smaller file.)

12. Congratulations!!
Though "roulet" (pronounced roo-lay) is different than "roulette" http://industrial.org/deterrent/roulette.html , since roulet is not a word as far as I could tell from an extensive google search
