...was found to have faked his data? THat pissed me off too.

Not to mention I took advanced inorganic chem from one of the two guys to have forced Xenon to form compounds and we had to spend a full week studying that useless crap. Is it any wonder I majored in Biology?

Apparently, if the story I heard was accurate, his results were never reproducable, and everyone just assumed he actually did it. Now they've gone back and looked at his data and there are serious issues with it.

Yeah, my Prof did. Couple guys named Henold and Walmsley. The compunds don't last very long, as you can imagine, and they are completely useless for anytihg as far as I know, but we spent a week studying them anyway.
