What sites do you hit on a regular basis?
DU and Fark.com, much as I love 'em, are starting to get a tad stale for me - how about some suggestions for some other sites to help me add a little variety?

I think I'll definitely be returning to Woody Harrelson's voiceyourself.com - I also hit:

darkhorizons.com
superherohype.com
launch.yahoo.com
salon.com
slate.com
theonion.com

1. The Onion is great

also this conservative website that gives "Christian" reviews of movies has me in stiches from time to time.

edit: oops! forgot a link!

10. Don't forget the Christian Critic!
He's a tad more thoughtful than CAPalert (sadly, no point system), but he does end every review with a Bible verse that sorta-kinda-barely relates to the movie.

Almost as unintentionally funny as CAPalert.

4. Disturbing Search Requests
Very funny and bizarre site where people post the oddest search strings that they find in their referrer logs. I don't have a site, so I don't have anything to post. :(

DU--Of course!

Engrish.com--Another HILARIOUS site. Unphotoshopped (looks that way to me) examples of mangled English from Japan. They haven't added other countries, including our own, yet.

Google--Most thorough search engine, in my opinion. I only wish they'd categorize more.

Besides those three, I just hang around on different sites. I've been on urbandictionarycom lately.

8. This is kinda scary
I read in Wired that Google's offices have a big scrolling electronic board that lists every search request (anonymously - the request ONLY) they receive in real time.

So the next time you put in a search request for "midget teen lesbians", just remember - you just made the big board.

12. I don't mind that so much
I mean, they can't go after real people or anything. Still, it is a little frightening that a corporation is watching my computer use :scared: .

7. Only one besides DU on a regular basis
www.yellowtimes.org Alternative news and views. They cover stories that corporate media here in the states ignores, but most of their stuff is commentaries with an emphasis on U.S. foreign policy. They publish a wide range of views foreign and domestic.

26. The Onion, for sure
America's Finest News Source! It's the only paper besides the Village Voice that I trust (just like the Daily Show is the only TV news I trust). I usually pick it up on the street on the way home from work, but if I can't then I will go online. I *love* the columnists--especially Smoove B. Loveman and T. Herman Zweibel, the latter of which gets quoted at least 5 times during my weekly D&D games (*rolls dice* "You've suddenly been attacked by some zombies! Full of the hoodoo juice!").

Landover Baptist is another frequently visited site, but my web home away from DU is a sick little haven of depravity called Television Without Pity. It's a place for snark-addicted malcontents with nothing better to do to work out our obsessive love/hate relationships with various TV shows. I post over there as Jess Atreides on the Smallville, Buffy/Angel and The O.C. forums, usually in the HoYay! threads (I'm a bit of a slash addict). It's fun to dissect TV, especially trashy TV, with intelligent people. It seems to be chock full of pinko libruls too: Dean's website has been pimped several times and the Daily Show thread is one of the most active on the site.
