Olympics 2008?

I've done a quick search without result so I apologize if this has been mentioned before.

Has anyone noticed that every channel that is showing the Olympic games is showing, on the information header, "Olympics XXVIII" instead of XXIV? This has been going on for a week and a half now. I can't believe no one has caught it. Too much :beer: ?

Could it be a subliminal message that the 2004 election has already come and gone?

the 28th olympiad. not 2008. The 28th is this year.

It's the 28th (XXVIII) Olympiad. Not 2008 (which would be MMVIII, I think)

X=10 not 1000 THe roman numbers describe the x-th Olympiad, not the year, that would be MMIV.
