In NH, I would give this day a 10. After all the rain and storms we've had, it was a crisp, clear, beautiful day in the mid '70's. BUT, I can hear acorns falling on the roof and the dogs are dunking for them as they float in the lake...a few trees are turning a bit...I love Fall up here, but this summer has been too short! Any signs of Fall elsewhere in this big country? And, what are they? :-)

1. A few trees starting to change colors in Iowa and it is WAY too early
for that. This crazy summer with temps in the 60's and 70's when they should be in the 80's and 90's has confused the trees.

Of course, now that school is starting again, maybe it will jump up to the 90's so we have to have a lot of early dismissals and miserable kids but the way it has been going, it may just stay perfect (upper 60's, low-mid 70's).

didn't like the old one. Thanks for the kind welcomes though.

14. You certainly may ask - I was K in IA.
I listed that in the comment section of my profile so I hopefully won't get too much flack from the people who like to hassle the newbies, although I haven't had much of that yet.

Maybe I just haven't said anything stupid yet, give me time.

2. A 10 in Connecticut
Bright SUN, not a cloud in the sky and a comfortable 75 degrees with a slight breeze.

Days don't get much better than this!

The Pilot Pen Tennis Tournament is being played in New Haven, CT and it seems like every year it's 95 degrees and rainy.

It poured yesterday but 2 of the first 3 days have been beautiful!

7. Mine was a 9
We had homecoming at church and ate like kings. "Homecoming" is where old family and friends return for worship and feasting. :-) Everybody brings a dish; there's enough food to feed Ft Bragg. :D

I asked my sister to come and spent some time with her. I also so a childhood friend I hadn't seen in many, many years.

I ate enough for two people. :D

19. Today was about 8.
It doesn't get any better in August in the Mojave. Our tens come in October; warm days, cool evenings, moderate breeze, crisp, incredibly blue skies.

Today people were saying things like: "Wow! You'd think it was October!"

The humming bird feeders are down and the birds are starting to flock.
A beautiful day here too, leaves on the stressed trees are beginning to turn, the mums are in flower, bull thistles have gone to seed and the pumpkins are turning.

I love this time of year too, picking the last of the blueberries, freezing corn and canning up peaches this week. It's always such a busy time for me.

22. fall in NH is nice..
I should be in the Nashua area quite a bit starting in september. Up in northern NH where it is mountainous (ie. Dixville Notch, near the canadian border, and the first place that votes at midnight every election year always shown on C-SPAN) the fall foliage is worth seeing.

23. 8.988372
A sunny day in Flagstaff, Arizona during the height of monsoon season (2 inches of rain in 4 hours Friday, with hail). I downgraded from a 10 because I wanted SOME rain today... we need far more, being at 57% of normal for the year. But you can't beat our clean, crisp, mountain air (ranked in the Top 10 of US Cities).

Life is good above the Mogollon Rim.

29. A 6 or 7...
it started out great with phone calls from both my older brother and a good friend (both live far away from me). As the day got on I just lazed around and eventually wasted almost an entire day making a porketta and fixings for this weeks lunch.

My roommate came home and that just made me cranky, as I have had the place to myself the whole weekend. But that's just me....

30. Thanks Raven for caring.
Today I was able to walk up and down some rather steep hills stumping. I actually got "the rich people who live in the canyons duty". So I got to see some really nice homes, beautiful gardens and lovely views of the beach. Unfortunately, since the Democrats were rather, few, far, wide and in between I walked a lot while canvassing. I met very nice people including the majority of Republicans in this well-heeled area. Really, they were nice. I didn't try to convert. It was a lovely two hours out of my day, and very athletic and hot.

Next week I get to go into the canyon where all the wineries are. It's nice. I am looking forward to it. I really wanted to go into the mobile home parks and the trailer parks reaching out to the people, but I guess the older people will do that. Trust me, I am old but I can still do it, so it made me feel good, even if it isn't the crowd I wanted to reach out to.
