The creep toward Authoritarian rule
Edited on Sat Aug-21-04 09:56 AM by salinen
The two basic human characters are now poised to strike. On one side the fearful, homophobic, jingoistic, violent, anti-reality types, and on the other side, is us.

The other side desires a much stricter rule and a punishing hand if the individual strays away from the code of normalcy. They have no idea how much they detest the Bill of Rights, The Constitution, and the Declaration of Independence. The code they seek is in a black book.

They posses the resources to succeed. The system is in chaos, a premeditated chaos to confuse and render the individual helpless. This is a classic deprogramming technique to change the character toward servitude.

There is certainly a Civil War happening in America. The level of incivility is ever increasing. This will become something else soon. Verbal violence, greed and fear will come to it's rightful place, in our backyard. The projections of this fear on others (Iraq, Nicaragua, Afghanistan) will not satisfy the real menace, who will strike out at their true enemy, the "others"

On edit: This was meant for GD.

1. i wouldnt be too worried about a civil war...
we dont have enough of a regional divide on our difference in opnion. if we where geographically divided in our opnions i think it would have happened long ago. just think, if the slave states where scattered throughout the union and not concentrated in the south would there have been a war? probably, but would it have lasted as long and started when it did? probably not.

i dont think there is anything to worry about. at least not yet.

2. no problem with the creeping
We may not be able to see the light, but there are too many fair minded people in this country to let it go down the drain, hold fast to the democratic way of life here, it will survive.

3. I agree, the friendly hand of fascism reaches out to those who bulldozed
their way out of the fascist created maze of barriers. Barriers from which they have emerged blinded. Blinded by the notion that extreme self certainty and ruthlessness are tickets to individual success and which must be imposed on those lost in the maze. Without feeling for those who seek not to bulldoze their way out from the maze but who refuse to trample the path already taken so that others may follow peacefully.
