OK, you call yourselves Democrats??????
I run a poll to see what movie my shitfaced ass should watch...and none of you, not one, votes for 'Thirteen Days.'

What's wrong with you? That's the best movie I own!

Kennedy v. Bush.

Always a winning fight.

Watch it if you haven't seen it. You get used to Costner's deplorable Boston accent quickly. An excellent, historically accurate (right down to the quotes, and yes I've done the research) film.

1. I liked it but I liked the rendition of what happens in the life and times
of RFK better
I felt so happy when Jack, Bob, and the Kennedy adminstration solved the Cuban Missle Crisis peacefully because I felt it proved how great they were, they avoided full scale war.

Even FIELD OFS DREAM which I actually liked (love all things baseball) puts me out like a light.

This is the second poll I've seen like this. It does the heart good! Makes me realize America may just seize the best chance she's EVER had to put a Progressive in office!

Here's to praying we don't blow it!

From our lips to God's ear!

Peace

11. Absolutely right!
But you prefaced your poll with, "I'm drunk." Couldn't imagine you would be able to keep up with all of Kennedy's advisors while "impaired." (Is there a bumper sticker in that, somewhere?)

BTW, did you read the book the film was taken from? The film is inaccurate all over the place compared with the book. And that scene with the fucking microphone dropping into the picture DROVE ME CRAZY!

20. Kevin Costner
They didn't show his butt in that movie, did they? Without his butt, you know, I just feel like I've been cheated.

So we heard Kevin Costner was going to move into a house about 20 miles from us up in Montana. Oh my god, the phones were ringing, the ladies' tongues were wagging. I bet there was a surge in binoculars sales. There was a bridge about 200 yards from the house and I just knew it would be PACKED! But it didn't happen. :-(

And that's about as much excitement as you get in a small town in Montana every 5 years!

24. actually
I don't call myself a Democrat. I'm registered Green.

You have American Beauty and don't list it among your best?

I picked The Usual Suspects. It and TTT are the best of your list, but I'm sure you watched TTT several times last week, so watch something different.

If you had a copy of The Princess Bride, that's a movie that one can always watch.

Thirteen Days is awesome. I've watched it about 15 times, and I am so glad the Kennedys, (people with intelligence) were in charge then, as opposed to what we have now. (Shudder)

29. oddly enough, i consider myself a human before i do a democrat
as a small boy i lived in fear during those october days of my 9th year, traveling to the pocono mountains to our cabin with my family fearing i would die in a conflagration i did not understand.

i do not care to relive those memories of bewildered fear.

it is not history to me. it is a part of my life.

i voted for the two towers.

31. How about
Animal House? If there was ever a movie to watch when you're shitfaced...

I loved Thirteen Days - and you're right, my New England upbringing made Costner's accent intolerable - but it's nothing I'd watch half in the bag. Aside from missing all the details, I'd go on a drunken crying jag for what our country was then and is now under these crazy neocon bastards. Sort of like when I watch West Wing.

Do you really want to watch the cuban missile crisis while fucked up?

Rent a comedy and suppliment the drunk.

Watching 13 days while drunk is like watching scarface on shrooms.
