I normally get off at 11:15 central, but am staying on tonight. Our network satellite uplink is in Tampa, so I'm recording programming feeds to keep the station on the air in the event the hurricane knocks it out.

I throw boxes around at UPS until 3:30 or so in the morning, then after that, it's home, shower, then relax (translation: catch up on DU and Fark) then it's off to sleep :D

but they told me that I am too skinny and I looked too " cutesy " to work in those conditions . Is that not discrimination or what ? I had the same sort of job years ago and I lifted the same amount of weight as they do at UPS . lol

We've got a girl in my area that's thin as a rail (and damn cute to boot) that can load with the best of them.

It sucks that they didn't even give you a shot. After seeing this company work from the inside, I'm pretty surprised that they would even flirt with a discrimination problem like that. My old part-time supervisor was looking to get promoted, and he even gave them "the best interview they've ever seen", but he didn't get the job because "it wouldn't look good."

Apparently, it's not good if who you promote is white and has a penis.

Except for the fact that they pull some pretty stupid sh*t sometimes, UPS isn't a bad company to work for...you may want to try again. :shrug:

I like getting up early and staying up late, but the latter seems to always win out. Plus, at the moment I have very little going on in my life (graduating college in a couple days, quit my part-time job, just finished some out-of-state volunteering for Kerry... but now totally uncertain of what to do next) and when that happens my natural, very screwed-up biological clock seems to kick in and shake up my sleeping patterns pretty badly.
