I'm getting tired of hearing how Kerry isn't "speaking to minorities"
I just heard this commercial from some African-American group whose members are claiming that Kerry comes across as some rich white elitist ect who really doesn't care about African-American problems ect.

I just need to say this okay. This is for all you sensitive white people out there who wonder like what do we minorities want to hear what do we want.

I'm speaking as a Latino here, who takes voting very seriously.

First of all I am fed up with certain groups that claim that Kerry doesn't speak for them or that the Democrats take their votes for granted.

One reason? THEY SAY NOTHING ABOUT BUSH

Let me ask what the hell exactly is Bush gonna doing for minorities? they say Kerry isn't doing much for minorities Bush has done NOTHING and will do nothing but make life miserable for minorities AND ALL Americans for that matter.

In my opinion what I and other minorities want is not free handouts, not promises to make a Hispanic Pride Month not bullshit talk about how much we're loved and how important we are ect no here's what we wanna hear:

We want to hear that the budget is going to be balanced so that ALL Americans NOT just minorities have to bear the brunt of this terrible deficit. We want to hear how our sons and daughters overseas who are in Iraq are going to be sent home and how schools are going to get the funding they need, how healthcare is going to be made more accessible.

Wow what's missing here? oh yea RACE BAITING you see we want what White people want, what EVERYONE wants stop with this seperation shit already THAT'S what leads to racism in my opinion, there is no sort of "special treatment" that Latinos or African Americans require all we want is for this country to get on the right foot, we want to see opportunities for our children to go to better schools and not have to be forced to starve or not have access to decent healthcare.

These aren't black issues, they aren't latino issues, they aren't white issues these are OUR issues and EVERYONE has a stake in them regardless of skin color.

So to you people out there saying that Kerry is "taking you for granted because you're a minority" what makes you so special that YOU'RE being taken for granted? We are all Americans, if one of us is being taken for granted then we're all being taken for granted I don't care what race or religion you belong to.

On the flip side I don't want to hear any politician pander to us by saying they're gonna be the black president or the latino president, screw that shit I wanna hear I'm gonna be the president that eases your tax burden, that doesn't screw you out of social security out of affordable healthcare, the president that doesn't cut funding for schools, out of your job that you've been working at for 9 years now, THAT'S what I want to hear and that's what I think we all want to hear for the most part.

So to my White friends out there looking to figure out how to make us happy cut the word game shit, cut the sympathy crap, we don't want that we want what you want and that's solutions to the core issues at hand, the same issues that plague you.

So to those minorities running ads saying the Democrats take their votes for granted, if they are taking you for granted it isn't because you're black or latino or any other minority, it's because you're too busy whining and getting paid to do some commercial for a criminal who wishes your ass would be drinking from a water fountain lableled "Blacks" instead of voicing yourself up as an individual who cares about the issues and wants something to be done about them and YOU KNOW IT.

For me I'm voting for Kerry because I feel the current president has been a disaster for all us on the levels of which have been discussed here at DU about a million times, I don't expect him to hand me gold and hugs, I expect him to work to balance the budget and make good on his promises and not bullshit us for 4 years. That's what I as a minority want. I want this nation as a whole everyone to have better lives not just us Latinos, not just the African-Americans, not just the Whites ALL AMERICANS regardless of your race or origins.

3. If it's the commercial I'm thinking of....
It's not an African American group. It's a few rich, white republicans running a soft money campaign with a title that sounds like an African American group.
