Public School Student Manual Includes "No Sex In Stairwells"

NEW YORK -- You wouldn't think you'd have to write this into law, but New York City's code of conduct for students entering classes in September will include "no sex in the stairwells."

The 26-page student codebook also bans using slurs to insult transgender students, homosexual and any ethnic groups.

The code also bans drinking alcoholic beverages and smoking pot in the school. It also lists weapons and other items that would make the school building unsafe.

The codebook lists anti-social behavior that years ago would never have been considered.

It seems kind of shortsighted to only ban sex in stairwells. Offenders caught in other places will rightly point out that they aren't doing it in a stairwell, so what is the problem?

classrooms either had teachers in them or were locked. Other good places: band room/practices rooms, library, backstage, and lighting booth
