Canadian man must pay $200 per month in dog support
Ex-wife's dog bites man in wallet

A Canadian man got off the leash by divorcing from his wife, but was ordered by a judge to pay 200 dollars a month in doggie-alimony.

Four-year-old St Bernard, Crunchy, is munching his way through a monthly bill of 200 dollars (150 US) in food, health bills and general care giving, the National Post newspaper reported.

1. How is a dog gonna consume 200 dollars worth of goods in a month?
Sometimes I can't understand it. Like for example when a man has to pay 4000 dollars a month PER CHILD for child support.

And then we wonder why there are so many deadbeat dads out there.

2. You know, this is not too far off as far as what it costs to keep a pet...
...dog. I have $1,600.00 budgeted for my dog including weekly trips to the groomer, food and dogie snacks, flea and tick prevention, shots and routine visits to the vet, plus a new doggier toy every 4 months and emergency contingencies. In Canadian dollars that's about right, although my dog is a 20lb Shi Tsu. A 200 lb St Bernard would go through quite a bit more Ecanuba dry dog food I would think. Did the judge allow visiting rights for the husband I wonder.

3. I think
the article stated that the question of visitation was not apart of the order.
Heck man, I can only imagine how much a St. Bernard could eat. Plus there are hours of grooming and poopy scoping, $200 Canadian sounds pretty fair to me.
