Has anybody seen an SNL rerun since E! got the rights?

5. I don't hate Mad TV, but you're right

Problem is, they can cut down SNL to an hour. Eliminating the really bad stuff. Mad TV is an hour program, so you have to see the crappy sketches. I personally think some of Mad TV is good, but still not as good as SNL, on the whole.

4. I saw one last week...a classic from the Gilda Radner days.

Don't remember what channel it was on, because I was surfing.

The musical guest was Gary Numan!!

7. Old shows on E---

A while ago I saw some very old ones from Michael O'Donoghue's reign. They were much darker, much more satiric and dangerous...even the lighting felt threatening.

There was one where John Belushi plays a teenager who gets arrested and is talking to his parents on the phone from jail. It turns out he was an accomplice to a John Wayne Gacy type child rapist/murderer, but his parents are only relieved to hear he wasn't in jail for smoking marijuana. Very evil stuff, unthinkable on SNL today.

BTW, we have a cartoon by a SNL writer T. Sean Shannon on the site this month. (See sig below)

8. Today was the official debut of SNL on E!

It's going to be on at 4:00 and midnight every night.

9. Wow! It's been almost a year since they got the rights

or anyway that long since Comedy Central had to switch to Mad TV. Not that it's a surprise that they aren't exactly rocket scientists at E!, but this is still just amazing to me. Anyway, thanks for the info!

10. There was a lawsuit that delayed everything
