What's your favorite Woody Allen movie?
Edited on Mon Aug-09-04 04:08 PM by WI_DEM
He is a genius in my opinion. One of the great American filmmakers. My all-time favorite is "Crimes and Misdemeanors" but I like many of his films. I love his early all-out comedies like "Sleeper" as well as his later, more serious work.

here is where you can find a list of his films

4. Only liked two.
"Everything you always...Sex" and "The Front." I'm not sure the latter was actually one of his. He may have just starred in it.

"The Front" was one of the rare Allen films done for another director, Martin Ritt.

6. ahh... so hard
he's really one of my favorite directors. I find something to love in every movie he makes.

I think Interiors and Crimes and Misdemeanors are really great, though. Bullets Over Broadway was incredibly good, too.

Aw hell, they're all good.

20. "Annie Hall" It was a great snapshot of a time and place.
It was one of my favorite all-time movies, although I'd say it's moved down the list through the years. (It's such a great reflection of its time that it tends to look dated now.) But I still love the movie.

I also really like "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex..." That one was such a riot!

21. What's Up, Tiger Lily?
When I first saw it, I thought there was something terribly wrong. My father and I watched it and before long we were killing ourselves laughing.
It was an actual Japanese thriller called "Kagi no Kagi" (Key of Keys) with the original audio taken out and absurd dubbing into English.

25. Many favorites: Zelig, Manhattan, Take The Money & Run, Sleeper
Play It Again Sam, Bananas, Hannah & Her Sisters would probably be the ones I could watch over and over, but I like virtually all his films, even some of the recent ones that have been criticized, such as "Hollywood Ending".

Watched this when I was a kid, and it opened my mind up completely to what might be possible with films.
