Anyone see Open Water yet?

Based on a true story. Because of the couple left behind, tour boats to the Great Barrier Reef now count all passengers multiple times before they head for home.

4. Please tell me what happened

I saw the premieres and there is no way I'll see the movie. So, did one of them get killed by a shark or did both survive?

from some of the reviews I've read I belive they both die - by sharks...

I think one dies by sharks?? I'm not going to see it but I want to know. I have no idea why I want to know.

But the SCUBA industry is pretty worried. My daughter works at one of the big national SCUBA organizations, and this movie is all the talk.
She says that if this type of thing happens it CAN be the boat owner's fault, but usually it is stupidity on the part of the divers.

In the case that this was supposedly based on, the two divers wetsuits were found, but they had no teeth marks or any evidence of shark attack. There is some speculation that they may have staged their own disappearance.

In real life they "died", but I don't know how the movie handles it.

9. The case that I'm aware of

that happened in Australia, it was pretty much the boat operator's fault. We were told the story on the boat I was on, and that's why they were so totally paranoid about counting all the passengers several times.

I'll see the movie, but then I get in for free, or will for another week until my son who works in a movie theater goes away to college.
