good news from my vet list
I am the lone Dem on our vet mailing list. Below is a sample of the discussion tonight.

Used with their permission as long as I removed their names.

Bush just pissed all the Govt worker's, Vet's  and active service by cutting the pay increase back to 1% instead of the 3% it was going to be, said it was to expensive...he's going to catch hell about that, he already did at the VFW meeting in ST Louis this past week....but he's really pushing this cut the military pay and bennies thing for some reason and it may be Rummy that's groading him on.....but it's going to be his undoing if he's not carefull....we vote, we read, we get other's out to vote......
R

Rummy better stop screwing around with the active duty GI's and vets, or he'll get nailed by all of us too.
D

I was reading here the other day someone is fixing to sue the Govt over the homeland Sec act and fight it from being extended....I think it should die personally, we just needed to beef up the FBI, CIA and NSA and they could do the job without getting into my affair's so much.....to much power to too few people....
R

And gas better start notching down substantially and real soon or the Repubs will not get my vote next time.  Why did the gummint have the Special Ops Guys seize the oil wells first in Iraq?  To stabilize the price of oil?????????????????????????????????????  Who the hell do they think they're kidding.  Stabilize prices for who?????????????  It looks to me like Bushy Poo is making the same kinds of mistakes Papa Bush made at the tail end of his term, too.  Every time I have to pay exorbitant prices at the gas pump, I can't help thinking about the Bush & Chaney clans' involvement with the oil business.  Remember, I came from Jersey City, where dirty politics was SOP.  These guys want to promenade around to give everyone the impression they are as pure as the Virgin Mary.  BUT they ain't, and we all know it.  And that's all I have to say about that.
D

Absolute power corrupts.  Thanks to our system of gummint, we still have the power to stop it in its tracks.  And to think that there are people out there today who suggest the Founding Fathers didn't know what they were doing.  There is nobody today who can even come close to those men.
D

I am with you there, my damn job is at stake and he's not doing anything to stop this nonsense....I saw that Exxon has made so damn much money this quarter it does not know where to put it all.....the dividend's are going to be so high that Wall street has put a buy on it this quarter...for a damn oil stock this time of year......and something crooked is not going on....like hell.......
when you pay $1.65 for gas in Texas something fishy is going on and it don't come out of no lake either....Bush is fixing to go down in history like his Dad......one term and out.........

1. See...Bush really IS a uniter!
Technically he didn't lie about that one, because he never said how he would unite people.
