The Hacking woman - what's up with that?

So the Hacking husband's family and the woman's family made a joint statement today, telling the volunteer searchers that they've rec'd some information from Mark Hacking that makes their searching for her unnecessary. They call off the volunteer searchers. Then the police say that they haven't rec'd any such information from anyone.

Now the police have made a statement that they've rec'd some information from some family members about the Hacking woman, and that the search in the landfill will continue on a certain date this week. I think I heard the policeman say that they have not spoken with Mark Hacking himself, who is still in the institution.

This is so mysterious. What could it be? Could it be that he's confessed to killing her and stated that she's definitely in the landfill? So the families don't need all those volunteers anymore? Or did he tell the family that she had left him and gone somewhere in particular? They wouldn't need searchers in that event, if the family believed him. Maybe the police don't believe him, so will continue the search? Could the whole thing have been a hoax by the woman, like that college student a few months ago?

This is so strange.

Not trying to be gross or funny - but the first thing I thought of when I heard about the "new information" is that he put her through a wood chipper.

3. The more likely scenario is that he murdered her and told them so.

His behavior certainly seems erratic and very unlike that of someone like Scott Petersen, who, guilty or not, remained calm and calculating during his period as a suspect. This Hacking fellow may have some serious mental problems and cannot deal with the guilt of murdering his wife, and kind of snapped. It is entirely possible that Hacking told his in-laws that he did kill her and that they could call off the search for her.

5. He was a psychology major in college. Someone who would know

how to fake being mentally unsound. I find that interesting.

Yes, I guess in my heart of hearts I know she's been killed. How sad. So sad. How could everyone have been so fooled by him? I guess I've never met someone like that, to know how it is.

Her husband's house of lies collapsed around him, and people get highly irrational and dangerous when that happens (I could write a book on the subject).

6. I guess so. I wish she hadn't confronted him about the lies,

if that's what happened. But how could she know? I would've hit the roof and confronted him. Poor girl. She seemed so sweet in the videos. Like Laci Peterson. I wonder if it's because they are sweet natured that some girls get bamboozled by such men (if that's what happened). But then the whole family was bamboozled, too.

If that's what happened, I wonder what's coming to our society. There seems to be such a number of wackos out there killing women for just any reason.
