So, did you sleep well last night? My night was a nightmare!

What a night, we had a terrible storm blow through the Nashville area last night. I awoke at midnight with no power. I was walking around the house still half asleep trying to turn on a light. The dogs started going nuts so I let them out and they just kept barking at everything. I started to hear what sounded like gunshots out by the road so I grabbed my flashlight and a shotgun to see what was up. (I am in an extremely rural area) I got about a hundred yards up the driveway and saw what was making the noise, A huge tree had fallen across my driveway. The power lines were down on the road right near my driveway. There is no other way out of the property and it isn't wise to try to cut up a tree in the dark and try to drive over power lines. So I go back to the house and try to get the dogs to come inside but they were still freaking out. It was 1:30am when I attempted to go back to sleep but the damn dogs kept going off so I go out and get them back inside. Then I notice that they had been sprayed by a skunk! I can't keep them inside, can't sleep with them outside! I finally get back to sleep at 2:30am. I had to be at work by 5:30am, I got up at 4:30am and got to work on the tree and just finished at 10:00am. I called my boss and got the voice mail and told him I was taking an emergency vacation day. I am going to catch hell tomorrow- I hope I don't get fired!
