9 Year Old Boy Lights Home Depot On Fire
<snip>

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- A 9-year-old boy set fire to the garden section of a Home Depot, closing the store, forcing the evacuation of nearly 100 shoppers and causing almost $2,000 in damage, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

Egged on by a friend, the boy apparently used stolen cigarette lighters to light the blaze, authorities said.

The boy was charged with arson to an occupied business, and his friend is considered a witness, said sheriff's Detective William Atkinson. The boys' names were not released.

The store was closed for two hours Tuesday, and hundreds of customers were turned away as smoke poured into the main store. Employees stopped the 6-foot flames with fire extinguishers.

5. Note to spokesman Miller-turrists could be reading this
"This could've been a real disaster," said sheriff's office spokesman Paul Miller. "There's so much combustible material in a Home Depot.
